Why should you use a travel agent?
This is from our FAQ page on our website : Why should I use a travel agent, rather than planning my trip online? Planning a trip can be confusing and time consuming. A travel agent has the knowledge and experience to ensure every aspect of your planning is smooth. This means saving you money on transportation with early booking discounts or special fares, booking hotels and resorts that are well-suited to your needs, and notifying you of any travel advisories that you should know about

LA Cupcake Tour Powered by Chevy
When I got an email from Tara of When Tara Met Blog inviting me to join her LA Cupcake Meetup Group for a tour of 4 cupcake shops in LA, I was pretty stoked. When I learned that we would also be chauffeured in a 2010 Chevrolet Equinox and 2010 Chevrolet Camaro convoy courtesy of Chevrolet and @BestOfTours , how in the heck could I say no to that? On the day of the actual tour, there were gray skies and imminent rain, but I wasn’t going to be deterred by a little bit of water

Explanation and clarification on ZA002′s landing gear
As you may have noticed, ZA002 touched down at Boeing Field with its landing gears doors open instead of stowed as we saw on ZA001 last Tuesday. The reason for the open position at the time of landing had to do with the resolution Neville and Carriker used to fully straighten a component of the nose landing gear

What do the Lincoln Tunnel and Ground Effects have in Common?
Both famously became available on December 22. The Tunnel opened for business back in 1937, and some of the first cars to enter its stony maw are still stuck in traffic half-way through to Manhattan. We wish them god speed

January and February…A great time of year to take a vacation
Just after Christmas, I love to begin thinking about a vacation getaway . Even if it’s only for a few days, it seems to help break up the winter a little bit and makes the gray and damp days a little more bearable. January and February are a great time to travel because it is a cheaper time of year to do so, especially if you are a cruise enthusiast. You will get a real bang for your buck when you book a delightful cruise to the Caribbean or Mexico during January or February. I like to think of a cruise as an all-inclusive vacation on water. It’s like being on a floating hotel with all of the perks and benefits of some of the most exclusive resorts around and surprisingly much less expensive. Travel agents are a valuable source for many travelers. They are a wealth of information when it comes to planning a vacation that is within your budget, but still allows you to have the kind of trip you are looking for. Their services do not cost you a penny, so why wouldn’t you take advantage of their expertise to plan one great vacation on your terms and with your budget in mind? As a travel agent, I generally will sit down with someone planning a trip and find out what they are looking for in a vacation, where they want to go, and what their budget for the trip is. Customers are always very surprised to learn that the trip they’ve been hoping to take for the last three years is really quite affordable. The internet has opened up a whole world of travel options for consumers. But, a travel agent can fine tune your wants and desire into an incredible trip that won’t break the bank for you. They will add their personal touches and couple it with your budget and expectation and create a trip that is unlike anything you could do yourself or that you could create on a travel website. It is the customer service that is missing from the others. So, if you haven’t tried the services of a travel agent, you are in for a big treat. Your trip planning will be absolutely effortless and you will look forward to the trip instead of stressing out wondering if you’ve covered all of your bases. Leave the travel planning to the expert. You’ll be so glad you did.

Balcony Cabin on NCL’s Jewel
As you can see from my previous posts, I recently went on a cruise to the Western Caribbean on NCL’s Jewel. This time we were in a balcony cabin. It was nice sized but the set up made the room seem small. There is a nice balcony, large enough for 2 chairs and a small table. As you walk into the cabin from the balcony, there is a small TV above a small table with a chair in the right corner. To the left is a love seat and small coffee table. Next are two twin beds (which are made into a queen bed for a couple traveling – I was traveling with my sister so we had twin beds). The passage from the living area past the beds to the bathroom/closet area is very tight and only one person could navigate it at a time. The bathroom was a nice sized bathroom. There was a separate area for the commode which had a door that could be opened and closed. On the other side of the sink was the shower, also with a door instead of a shower curtain. That was nice because it kept the bathroom floor from getting wet from the shower. The sink area was nice and big but did not have a lot of shelves so we had to keep our makeup and most cosmetics out in the room. There was not a lot of places to store items

Your Call Is Important To Us -Seasons Greetings from Delta and Expedia
Adjusting the volume on the phone earpiece, I asked for the Expedia agent to repeat what she had just said. “ Mr Bolton, I can advise you that in order to change the flight to London from Monday 21st December, arriving Heathrow on 22nd December to 7.45 PM leaving Boston on 22nd December and arriving on 23rd December, the additional fee will be $6,890 per person.” That’s what I thought she said

5. Packing Folder
I’ve long wanted one of those fancy packing folders sold by a certain travel company. I even bought them as Christmas presents a few years ago, but I was reluctant to spend that much on myself, and I wanted a smaller size. I finally realized I could do the same thing with a bandana, a school folder, and a safety pin, saving myself about $23.
