Good evening, folks!  Better get cracking on this post or it’ll be morning before I’m done!  As the title suggests, I finally took my food processor out of the box.  It’s so sleek and shiny… I kind of just want to snuggle with it in bed.  But… that’s a story for a different blog Yesterday I got up very early to finish some work before going into my internship.   I drank a pot of coffee, opened my eyes a little wider, and finally started feeling my appetite.  I made a yogurt bowl with vanilla Oikos, a Gala apple and granola .  Hit the spot! There wasn’t a whole lot for me to do at work… I mailed some things, ordered some more things, and read some other things.   As vague as that sounds, I actually really like working there and am learning a lot about the industry!  No experience is bad experience in my book (with a few exceptions). I got off a couple hours earlier than usual and had some time to kill, so I decided to go next door and get a workout in before meeting my mom for lunch.  I fueled up with half of a (very stale) Chocolate Chip Clif Bar

Met by staff at the entrance we were given fairly royal treatment – only thing that slightly concerned me was the constant coughing from the guy behind us (swine flu???) just kidding! it was a little creepy that they had pictures of jesus everywhere, including one of him playing scrub nurse in theatre (we later realised it was a christian church!) After the hospital, we headed off to MBK, which is a massive shopping centre

Heard enough about my vacation?  I didn’t think so!  How about a restaurant review… After my beautiful day on the beach , the whole gang headed back to the condo to freshen up.  Earlier in the week my husband and I went out for a night alone and ended up at the Key West Grill at Broadway on the Beach for late night dessert.  When we told my mother about it, she had to try it too so we decided that would be where we would celebrate our birthdays, in style.  (Her’s being October 24, mine the 29th, and neither of us are giving out birth years!) What a beautiful place!  Since it was the off-season, we were seated right away, at a table right by the deck (too cool for outside dining that night, unfortunately).  We had a nice view of the lagoon and the Dragon’s Lair Fantasy Golf Course, which shot flames into the air every so often, to the amusement of my son, Andy.  Broadway was so pretty, all lit up for the night, they use LOTS of neon.  Choices of seating included large tables like ours, booths for 2 and 4, and of course bar seating.  It was all marble and leather look, luxurious without being heavy.   There was a live parrot sitting on a cage right inside the door.

Jump to the full entry & travel map Galapagos Islands, Ecuador Day 2 on Galapagos started early – 6.45 for breakfast – then into the pangas to go to Floreana Island where we were met by loads of sea lions, lazing around on the beach, flippers on each other, casually spooning. We walked a few 100 yards inland to a large brackish lagoon where we found flamingoes, including the rare sight of a group of 6 babies. Adults were pink, babies white and fluffy (they feed on milk from mother, don’t you know), though all with stupidly long legs.

Yeah it was a really pretty beach and it was full of people, so we decided to go find Jess before getting settled into the sand.
