Waste Not Want Not: The Nation’s Best and Worst Sustainable Fish Restos
Nobu in New York. [Photo by Steve Smith ] A new website by the name of Fish2Fork has taken it upon itself to be the watchdog for American and British restaurants’ willingness to serve sustainable seafood. It bills itself as “the first attempt we know of to rate restaurants that serve fish not only for the quality of their food but also for the effect they are having on the seas and on marine life.” Thing is, the project is still very much in its infancy and only a limited number of restaurants are rated so far, leading SF critic Michael Bauer to call it “a great effort, but a modest beginning.” That said, it’s worth taking a look at the best ratings and the worst offenders.

Nightlife: Cocktails, Celebrity Booze: Best & Worst Trends Of The Aughts
When Jonathan Miles rightly used his final column to celebrate the cocktail craze of the past decade, he properly noted that, “cocktail was no longer a fashion accessory, as it was in the ’90s. BA faces Easter strike in midst of new strike ballot
British Airways is asking its ground staff to practice their in-flight skills as the airline prepares for a possible walkout from cabin crew, which could interfere with Easter holiday travels, according to the TimesOnline . Check-in agents, baggage handlers and back-room staff could be asked to help serve drinks, prepare the cabin and work at 35,000-feet after cabin crew union leaders announced plans for a new strike ballot. The TimesOnline published the following statement from Willie Walsh, BA’s chief executive: “I am asking for volunteers to back BA by training to work alongside cabin crew who choose not to support a strike, so we are ready to keep our customers flying as much as we possibly can if this strike goes ahead.” A judge banned the originally planned strike that was scheduled to take place over the Christmas holiday, but now Unite (the union that represents the BA cabin crew) says that it will re-ballot 13,000 cabin crew on the possibility of another strike
