Independent Travel, Simplified.

“Independent Travel, Simplified.”                  Monogram’s motto to help you see the world the way you want to. Monograms is a fairly new product brought to you by Globus Family of Brands.  Globus and Cosmos are both divisions that focus on escorted group tours of Europe, Asia, South America, and North America.  However most people feel escorted tours don’t give you enough freedom and dread sitting on a coach with 40 other people for a week or two.   Monograms solves this problem!  It gives you the convenience of pre-arranging your flights, transfers to/from the airport, accommodations, and city orientation sightseeing as well as a local concierge/guide who will guide you in the right direction whether you need restaurant recommendations, shopping ideas, religious services, public transportation, etc.

Dream Road Trips

I love travel magazines, I must subscribe to at least 15 of them each month besides for the emails and news I read on a daily basis, but I get inundated with ideas of awesome trips that “one day” I will refer back to.  Well, I’ve decided to start keeping a diary of sorts and post the most important points of some of these articles to alleviate the clutter here and to help give you ideas of your next vacation.  If you have questions about routes, hotels along the way, car rentals, or tours feel free to contact me and I will do my best to help you in any way that I can. From March 2010 Budget Travel magazine, I clipped an article on dream road trips: Blue Ridge Parkway 1) The Blue Ridge Parkway-Start in Asheville, which is served by many airlines or drive (from Orlando it is about 9 hours, since we are going up there in November).  One of the best and busiest times to visit is late September and October for fall foliage, apple picking, and beautiful fall weather.  From Asheville, you will be heading north through the Pisgah National Forest.  Some towns to stop along the way are Boone, Banner Elk, Blowing Rock, and Linville.  Once you hit Boone, you may want to turn around and head back to Asheville or continue on into Virginia.

Be a Travel Agent for Personal Travel Group with Full Assistance

For many years, Personal Travel Group (PTG) has maintained it’s status quo as one of the top corporate leader in Co-operative Travel Agency chain that has introduced customer fees for travel agent’s services at the lowest competitive rate in the market. The company’s core reputation in the travel business has increased its client base since they felt more secured in dealing with PTG, aside from the fact that it has maintained in providing excellent service throughout the UK. That is why many were delighted to hear the good news when PTG has introduced a minimum of £15 handling fee per booking, where the agent matches a holiday price from the internet.

Where to honeymoon?

Due the craziness from the past two days David and I have considered canceling the wedding we had planned, as difficult as that would be, and just having something small like eloping and then have dinner with everyone later—orsomething along those lines. The stress, oh jeez, the stress. Again, you girls can relate and it’s nothing new, but I was a puddle of tears the past two days

Why use a travel agent today?

I get this question all the time and mostly in a some sort of phrasing that implies that my chosen business and career is dead and how can I possibly stay in business with Expedia, Orbitz, hotels.com, and a number of other internet sites you can book yourself. When was the last time you saw a travel agency in the mall, a strip center, or in an office building?  Most have gone out of business because they did not change their business model to reflect the growing need of vacation personalization and continued to rely on walk in business and referrals, but did not give the service to go along with it. At most travel agent seminars, conventions, classes, and events, I am surrounded by agents who are on average 50-70 years old who are ornery and bitter because the travel business has changed, technology has become more and more important, and clients just aren’t coming back in droves because they don’t have to!  Travel agents used to be the only source for airline tickets, European tours, cruises, etc.

Online Travel sites are like fast food restaurants

The best analogy I could find for online travel site vs a professional travel agent is to make a comparison to a fast food restaurant and a good restaurant. With a fast food restaurant, the food quality and amounts are consistant, you know your hunger will go away, it’s not hard on your pocket book, it’s good enough, you deserve to splurge with those extra calories and you know it’s not the most nutritious meal

Tips For Saving Money on Vacation

http://etravel.totalwarehouse.com  By budget travel I don’t mean going on a mini vacation with your family to a park, or going camping in your van.  Budget travel is actually that, travel, going on vacations to other countries, going on cruises, etc..  It’s just like normal travel, but cheaper.   Image via Wikipedia   Also, it doesn’t mean smuggling yourself in a suitcase of a friend of yours that’s going on vacation :) Here is the deal.  There are amazing travel discounts you can take advantage of that will save you hundreds or even thousands (if you travel a lot) of dollars every year.  There are certain tricks of the trade normal people just like you are using, everyday, to save a huge chunk of money every time they travel.  You can save money on your flight ticket

Chilling out in Taba Egypt

Karen recently spent a week in Taba , on the shores of the Red Sea – “Taba is a great place for chilling out for a week or two in the sun – there’s very little there apart from some exceptionally nice hotels, mostly situated on the beach, a dive centre and great weather, perfect! We spent a week at the newest hotel in Taba Heights , the 5* Intercontinental, which is an excellent hotel with a great tapas bar on the lagoon, and did a trip to Petra and a trip to Cairo from there, although I would quite happily have done nothing for the week! I think there will be more hotels there in the next few years as it is a purpose-built resort that is growing quickly, so if you are looking for peace and quiet now is the time to go! My friend and I tried our hand at snorkeling, which is fantastic in the Red Sea , and most people there were raving about the diving and reeling off the names of the fish they had seen.
