London Real Estate: Student Edition

Since housing in central London is pretty outrageous, living in student housing does come out to be more cost-effective.The process to sign up for LSE accommodation will begin any day now (in February). I have spent the past few days researching the different availabilities and deciding which housing to put on my preference list. I am to pick 3 residential hall/building from the LSE-only accommodation and also 3 more from the University of London intercollegiate halls .

Sami’s Wrap ‘n’ Roll Opens in Jamaica Plain

A new restaurant with a familiar name has just opened in Jamaica Plain. According to various reports (including posts on Chowhound and Yelp ), Sami’s Wrap ‘n’ Roll is now open for business on Centre Street in Jamaica Plain, bringing to the neighborhood a place to get Middle Eastern and Mediterranean food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (although it appears that only lunch is being served for the time being – breakfast and dinner should follow soon, but call in advance to check).

Butcher Bay , a short lived seafood restaurant born from the failure of another short lived and quirky comfort food spot Seymour Burton , has finally closed for good on East 5th Street. Back in 2007, Seymour Burton took over for a standby on the block, Le Tableau. It had great potential and an even better burger but was barely more than a construction zone.
