[ Krieger ] Betel , a new Thai restaurant from Australian restaurateurs, opened in the old Wild Ginger space on 51 Grove last week. Designed by the man behind the Upper East Side’s sleek Le Caprice, the space itself is a looker, and people in the neighborhood seem happy with what he’s done with the landmarked space.

Parks and Rec.: Danny Meyer and 30 Other Vendors Eye Brooklyn Bridge Park
[ Curbed ] To be honest, it would be weird if Danny Meyer hadn’t toured the prospective restaurant spaces in the upcoming Brooklyn Bridge Park , given he has restaurants in both Central and Madison Square Parks, considered bidding on the Tavern on the Green space, and holds a slew of operations at CitiField. But yes, he was there last week to tour the Pier 1 facilities along with the owners of Red Hook’s destination restaurant The Good Fork , mini Asian chain Rice , Dumbo’s Superfine , and at least 30 others (and one blogger plant )
