Airport ‘flouts’ global norms

JAIPUR: Though international flights started operating from Sanganer Airport a decade-and-a-half years ago, the airport is still running on provisional licence from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for not complying with the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) norms and regulations. The prime concern is that Sanganer Airport is surrounded by residential colonies

International airlines expected to profit in 2010

In a slowly improving economy, reports from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) show that international air carriers are seeing much better days than previously forecasted. While losses are still expected for this year, the new forecast shows only half the losses that were once calculated.

Sources: Dreamlifter deal part of 747-8 compensation to Atlas

Boeing will shift control of its fleet of four modified 747-400 large cargo freighters or ‘Dreamlifters’ to Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings as part of a compensation deal in the wake of delays incurred by the airframer’s 747-8 program, sources close to the agreement confirm. Atlas would not “confirm nor deny” that the nine-year Dreamlifter deal is part of compensation package for its delayed order for 747-8F aircraft, now scheduled to begin delivery in early 2011

AI PIA bhai bhai.

This is a few years late, but I trust everyone has heard of Air India’s experiment where they tried carrying three extra passengers on a flight. Out of the three, one woman was accommodated in the cockpit – modern aircrafts have three seats in the cabin two for the pilot and the co-pilot and one a jump seat that’s usually kept vacant -and two children were made to sit on foldable seats meant for cabin crew during take off and landing. While they are being rapped for violating safety norms, I applaud them for trying out this experiment whilst not ignoring safety norms.

Project Promoting Polyarchy in place in Pakistan has been completed. An illiterate population, an obsequious and partisan press, a bigoted leadership and gaggle of self-centered politicians who believe in “Cest Le estat me moi” ( I am the state) are now all working for profit and their Swiss bank accounts. God helps tholeader of the PMLNse who help themselves. The Quran says, God will not change the condition of a people, ’till they change themselves
