Spain to host “dagon” concert in Hanoi
The Spanish embassy in Hanoi will hold a concert in early October to mark the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi and the European country’s National Day. It will feature the “Dragon,” a legend that associated with King Ly Thai To’s royal proclamation to move the royal citadel from Hoa Lu to Thang Long in 1010, and “Fire,” which is often used in traditional Mediterranean festivals. I was eager to visit Kuta on my last sojourn to Lombok mainly out of curiosity. That, and the fact so many people had told me of its pristine appeal to travellers as well as being a good surf break. This tiny village on the sweeping bay of white sand and coconut palms was refreshing and the total opposite to that of its counterpart on the sister island of Bali .

Blast From The Past: Riding The Rails to Miami
On an evening in August of 1961 I was one of a few hundred 14-16 year old kids who boarded a train at Seattle’s King Street Station bound for Florida on our first big-time adventure trip.
