Slice of Paradise – Koh Jum, Thailand
Jump to the full entry & travel map Koh Jum, Thailand On this small little island that doesn’t look very appealing on its internet site, because you can tell the sand is coral and not too soft, I found peace the minute I stepped ashore and even before. As soon as the noisy ferry engine stopped and we were surrounded by four or five long boats with colorful scarves wrapped about the front of the boats, pirates come to get us, everything felt different. Jum-bound passengers were quickly and efficiently offloaded and jumped into to their respective transport.

Geysers, stars, sand and farewell Chile! – San Pedro de Atacama, Chile
Jump to the full entry & travel map San Pedro de Atacama, Chile We were really priviledged, in fact honoured is a more accurate description, to share our 23 hour bus marathon from Santiago to San Pedro with the gold and bronze medalists as well as the founder of the annual Chilean Snoring Championships! Lucky us! You can imagine how excited we were – like kids on Christmas – that we didn’t sleep a wink that night!! San Pedro de Atacama is way up in the north of Chile, in the middle of the Atacama desert. Rocking up in this little town at 9pm and finding a place to sleep was pretty easy and the plan for the next few days was to do a couple of trips to see the surrounding area (mountain biking, walks and several tours) then head off into Bolivia. That was the plan until Ang’s kidney decided to get infected…

In one word…amazing! – Ko Samui, Thailand
Jump to the full entry & travel map Ko Samui, Thailand Hello All, Not currently on Ko Samui anymore, actually I have no idea where I am…but anyway, just wanted to give a little update about how my time on the island was! Our group stayed at a fabulous resort…Mai Thais by the poolside, gorgeous views of the beach…this place had it all! Basically I used my island time to relax, but we did have an included day trip to snorkel at a marine park and lounge/kayak around a gorgeous island! Other than that, I took full advantage of the spa services and had two massages (note: do not get a traditional thai massage if you aren’t flexible! they will bend you in ways you didn’t know were possible..) and got my nails done.

A week in the Laos Capital – Vientiane – Vientiane, Lao Peoples Dem Rep
Jump to the full entry & travel map Vientiane, Lao Peoples Dem Rep The Night bus from Pakse to Vientiane was a real experience, the beds were quite comfy and we managed to sleep a bit. A great way to travel long distances, and we saved a night in a hotel – but wouldn’t comply with any European safety laws! So on Sunday when we arrived in town we were a bit sleepy and made the most of Vientiane’s wonderful bakeries, hot choc and pastries before a powernap.

Early start – Fraser Island, Queensland, Australia
Jump to the full entry & travel map Fraser Island, Queensland, Australia Got up early partly because Denzel got up so early and partly because we wanted to get up to the furthest North part of the beach – Indian Head before the tides blocked us in. Left about 6.45am and got up there and walked up to the lookout and saw some sting rays in the surf below us and plenty of Dolphins but the main thing we went looking for was some whales.

Kalaw – Kalaw, Myanmar

Pakokku – Pakokku, Magway, Myanmar

Mandalay – Mandalay, Myanmar
Jump to the full entry & travel map Mandalay, Myanmar Arribar a Mandalay en autocar nocturn no esta fet per a persones febles d’esperit.

Yangon – Yangon (Rangoon), Myanmar
