Eventually we decided on an area called Jiankou. It was described as wilder and more dramatic than most other sections of the wall.

The Captain pulled a few strings and we’re staying in a corner suite with gorgeous views of Maryland.

Gearing up for driving out of the city towards New York state, we wanted to fastest route possible today so we ventured to take the toll roads, aka the Mass Pike and NY thruway

It was moving to see American and Chinese students working together on the wheel, learning from one another and helping each other using no language. Jeremiah and Jackson also got to get their hands dirty and taught a quick lesson on techniques they use on the wheel.

After navigating the subway from our hotel to downtown we headed to the restaurant ‘Legal Seafood’ for what was going to be a light lunch before hitting the trolley tour – until the third course of the ‘trio roll’ arrived, which included local crab meat , lobster and a shrimp cocktail all crammed into a sourdough roll…. there was no way we were walking again today

It started with a four hour flight to Amsterdam, there we had four hours to spend before our next flight. At this point we slept for approximately one hour the whole night, but none the less we wondered the huge Schiphol airport exited and happy, looking for a good and cheap breakfast (you don’t want to start your trip with big spending, you can never know how cheap the Black Label will be in the next Duty Free)
