Gujrati-Style Dim Sum at Rajdhani

Usually one doesn’t associate Dim Sum and Indian Food together; yet, at Rajdhani, there actually is a connection between these two thoughts, albeit in a round about way. Like Dim Sum, there are servers that dispense food from table to table, from patron to patron, plus it’s not going to cost you an arm and a leg to eat at Rajdhani.

Burmese Dishes at Yoma

For the longest time, my only experience with Burmese food was at the Golden Triangle Restaurant in Whittier . In fact, for the longest time, it was the only game in town when it came to Burmese food. Slowly, but surely, other players became as prominent and that included Yoma in Monterey Park, so one night, I set up an outing for my dining group to check it out.

How To Sell Your Company

John Warrillow sent me a copy of his book recently (one of the perks of having a business blog) and it was surprisingly good. The book is titled “ Built To Sell ” – which actually turned me off a bit at first.  It reminded me of “Built To Last”, the famous business book by Jim Collins, except quick flips have a negative connotation to me.

How To Get Your Customers To Refer Their Friends

This entry is part 19 of 19 in the series UniversityTutor.com I was reading this presentation by the Dropbox.com Founder , Drew Houston, the other day and the most interesting part about it was that most of their marketing with Adwords and conventional approaches completely failed. Yet Dropbox has over 4 million users.

Chef Debbie Lee’s Seoul Town Tapas at Breadbar + GIVEAWAY

Congrats to Dina Leigh for Winning the $50 Gift Card to Seoul Town Tapas from the Breadbar! Ever since I saw Debbie Lee compete on the America’s Next Food Network Star Show , I was really interested in her cooking style that fused both her Korean and Southern background. Unfortunately, I had missed her first stint at BreadBar as a part of their Hatchi series, but I wasn’t about to miss her second one. This time, her second appearance was going to serve as an introduction to the type of food she plans to serve at her own restaurant opening later this year

New $40 Chef’s Tasting Menu at XIV by Michael Mina

Thanks to Rachel Krupa of Krupa Consulting, PR rep for XIV by Michael Mina , a guest and I were hosted by XIV to try out their New $40 6 Course Chef’s Tasting Menu and since a tasting menu is so much more fun with a group, a few of my dining club members attended as well. Our meal started with a dish that actually wasn’t part of the tasting menu. It was toasted pita bread with a dipping sauce made with feta and yogurt

I’m Willing to Drive for the Pork Ribs at Cambinos Asian BBQ

I first heard about Cambinos Asian BBQ when it showed up as an outing on my dining club’s calendar . Even though it was in OC, just the thought of Asian BBQ was enough to get me in my car for a drive beyond LA County boundaries, especially since I had such a wonderful experience with Park’s Finest BBQ . By the way, owner James Sar, is Cambodian, but named his restaurant Cambinos after his former Filipino-Cambodian basketball team that used to play around Orange County.

After Birthday Check-Up

Every year, on the day after my birthday, I like to take stock of my life to make sure that everything is running as smoothly as a Swiss watch. That’s why I made an appointment for this morning to see Doctor Teitelbaum, my family doctor. “How’s it going with you and Sophia?” he asked as he took

FeedmailPro.com Sent Over Half A Million Messages In The Last 6 Months

This entry is part 5 of 5 in the series FeedmailPro.com This is pretty cool. Was looking at the stats recently for FeedmailPro.com and about 600,000 messages (blog posts going to email subscribers) have gone out since it started just six months ago. 306 blogs with 132,844 total subscribers are now using the service 9 paying customers so far which is a 3% conversion rate on a freemium product The main untested theory behind the site, which is that you can let users import subscriber lists without another opt-in by testing the list first seem to be working quite well.  You can weed out spammers without punishing the good guys.

Hot Dog Sampling at the Slaw Dogs

For the past month, I’ve been hearing a slow buzz about a new hot dog joint called The Slaw Dogs . I finally decided to Google it and see what the fuss was about. When I read about the unique ingredients that made up their Specialty Slaw Dogs, I was intrigued and when I found out that The Slaw Dogs was in Pasadena, a mere 15-20 minutes away from me, my mind was made up.
